LUMEN® PHOTON THERAPY Physical therapy; targets tissues to increase blood flow, reduce pain and heal.
Very simple to use: just place pad on desired area and select setting. I find this easy to use and effective for pain, lymph flow, healing spinal cord/column, assisting adrenals, supporting liver, relieving tired eyes and more. Expensive initial output, yet totally worth it.
$600-$900 USD
Note: ensure your source 'bakes' the product for you prior to sending it to get rid of 99% of the VOCs in the padding.
CLASSICAL HOMEOPATHY
Energectic therapy afffecting the physical/mental/emotional/spiritual bodies. The correct remedy is chosen for you after interview to prompt your body to heal itself.
This has been life saving for me when allopathic medicine could do nothing.
$75-$200 USD for initial interview
$5-$6 USD for remedies
Ensure you see a homeopath, not just an ND, as their training is not extensive enough for complicated cases such as ME/CFS. Sometimes 'healing reactions' are encountered lasting 3-10 days.
CHIROPRACTIC Physical therapy involving manipulation of tissues and joints to allow nerve impulses to flow to tissues and organs properly.
My chiro helps put my bed-bound spine back into alignment, then she does 'decompression' to help stabilize and potentiate the neural connections. She is also starting mild core strengthening exercises to suit my abilities.
$30-$60 USD
Much more appropriate approach than what occupational therapists and physical therpists can offer me at this point; they latter started me off with sitting up, (and crashing) while there are 10 steps to master before attempting this.
MASSAGE THERAPY Physical therapy involving manipulation of muscles and myofascial tissues can assist relaxation, some types of pain and lymph flow. $50-$80 USD
GUPTA AMYGDALA RETRAINING®
Physical/mental therapy that re-trains your amygdala to stop over-responding to stressors which help keep you in the illness cycle.
$199 USD
I think everyone could benefit from this tecnique which calms the body/mind allowing for healing to ocurr.
LIGHTNING PROCESS®
They say Gupta and LP are different, but I find these therapies to have a lot in common. Both use neuro-linguistic programming, self-coaching and awareness of thoughts as the basis. The 2 main differences I notice between LP and Gupta's approach are a) the price, and b) Gupta allows you to go at your own pace, whereas LP insists on the 6-8 hr./day sessions for 3 days in a row. LP also uses EFT, which you can learn yourself through YouTube Videos and free e-books. probably the most remarkable recovery from ME/CFs credited to the LP was that of Anna Debbage, UK.
$1,500-$3,000+ for 3-Day Training session and materials
My ME/CFS specialist has told me that two of her patients have tried the LP (with the coach) and crashed horribly. I tried it on my own after finding out the 'secret' method to find myself able to listen to music within 2 days. After awhile I got to a point where I needed fine-tuning by a coach, but couldn't get any help from the LP people. That's why I do Gupta's programme now.
ANTHROPOSOPHIC INJECTABLES Perscription sub-Q injectables by WALA. May also be added to Nutritional IVs. Expensive.
HYDROTHERAPY
This physical therapy involves the placement of hot and cold towels alternately, usually along the spine to regulate nervous function.
Usually performed by Naturopathic Doctors (NDs), this therapy is effective yet time consuming and relatively labour intensive and therefore not as widely available as it could be.
You don't really need specific training to administer hot and cold wet towels, so if you can get someone to do this for you at home, it would be ideal and save you the NDs' fee.
I'll work on getting the exact protocol; it's about 2 minutes for each of 3 hot and cold applications.
LOW HEAT SAUNA
Physical therapy; low heat creates an 'oily sweat' response which is most beneficial for eliminating toxins and heavy metals through the skin.
Ensure you are properly hydrated and mineralized throughout the therapy. Make sure you shower during and after to remove toxins from skins' surface to prevent reabsorption.
This is not ideal for those who are very weak with ME/CFS, as heat drains chi. Obviously inappropriate for the bedridden.
TENS® THERAPY
Physical therapy using the ETPS hand-held unit that you can apply yourself.
ETPS TENS® treats acupuncture points, trigger points and neural pathways making it beneficial for a wide variety of uses, though most notably for pain.
$200-$400 USD
I have used this unit to strengthen my arm muscles, to treat acupuncture points and ease pain.
It comes with a guide book that shows you how to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions.
HEAVY METAL CHELATION IV
Physical therapy using the chelating agent DMPS to remove heavy metals from the body.
Usually 10 treatments are ordered for the course, with one being done weekly. This is not for the weakest ME/CFS patients. I had to stop at 5 treatments because of the excruciating neurological side-effects (this is while I was a 4.5/10 on Bested'S Functional Capacity Scale).
$90-$130 USD each
Ensure you are supporting kidneys and bowel while undergoing this treatment. I would consider coffee enemas as an adjuct to minimize possible side efffects and support detoxifiaction.
NUTRITIONAL IV
Physical therapy where an IV catheter is inserted and a drip of vitamins, minerals and trace elements are infused into the bloodstream over about 2 hours.
If ever in hospital, ask for this as it's free there (for Canadians, anyways) and can help boost energy and vitality.
At clinics the treatment is not covered by insurance in Canada, though the mix of nutrients can be custom blended.
$80-$130 USD
I have had about 50 of these, until the RN couldn't get a vein anymore. They were very helpful, though a Myer's cocktail is cheaper and has the same effect. They do not give a Myers' in hospital, as slow push IVs are not done there (I was told).
MYER'S COCKTAIL SLOW-PUSH IV
Physical therapy consisting of vitamins, trace elements and macro minerals administered through an IV with a syringe push instead of bag drip taking about 15 minutes.
Creates feelings of energy, warmth and well-being. Similar to a nutitional IV, but less expensive and time consuming.
Not for those where the RN 'can't get a vein' without it collapsing.
$30-$50 USD
JMT/NAET® ALLERGY ELIMINATION
Physical/Energetic therapy used to de-sensitize you from various allergens, in a specific order. A vial is held while certain acupuncture points are tapped or brushed.
I have seen amazing results with this, but it is quite labour intensive as a special diet must be followed while clearing certain allergies. JMT is easier to tolerate. The amount of sessions you are told you must have seems endless for both therapies.
$30-$75 USD per session
COFFEE ENEMA The coffee enema is an indispensable therapy you can give yourself in the comfort of your own home. If you ever find yourself in the position of having been exposed to Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) or are experiencing a 'healing reaction' from another modality (like cleansing, parasite die-off, etc.) the coffee enema is your best tool to help alleviate discomfort and potential illness.
I do them for 5 days out of the week. Concerned that this may make my bowel lazy, my ME/CFS specialist assured me that all her patients who stop once they're feeling well again have no difficulty returning to a normal bowel routine.
A WW1 nurse in a German army field hospital discovered the procedure after administering enemas to wounded soldiers with the only available liquid - a pot of warm coffee. There were no pain-killers available at the time, so this was her only choice.
The coffee enemas resulted in an almost immediate relief from deep pain, lasting for several hours.
Max Gerson MD, was an Officer in the German army who also started specializing in cancer treatment. He proposed that tumors unleashed toxins that were jamming up patients' livers, causing them to die. He remembered the coffee enema, started using it, and stopped losing patients. Today the Gerson Institute in California carries on his work.
Coffee enemas have proven themselves an advantageous means of restoring the liver. The caffeine in coffee administered as an enema definitely detoxifies the liver and is a primary therapeutic approach of the Gerson Therapy. The liver is the main organ for the regeneration of the body’s metabolism for the transformation of food from intake to output.
While the coffee enema is being retained in the gut (for optimum period ranging from twelve to fifteen minutes), all of the body’s blood passes through the liver every three minutes. The hemorrhoidal blood vessels dilate from the exposure to the caffeine; in turn, the liver’s portal veins dilate too. Simultaneously, the bile ducts expand with blood, the bile flow increases, and the smooth muscles of these internal organs relax. The blood serum and its components are detoxified as this vital fluid passes through individual’s caffeinated liver. The quart of coffee being retained in the bowel stimulates the visceral nervous system, promoting peristalsis. The coffee delivered through bowel dilutes the bile and causes an even greater increase in bile flow. There is flushing of toxic bile, which is further affected by body’s enzymatic catalyst known to physiologists as glutathione S-transferase. This enzyme quenches free radicals that leave the liver and gallbladder as bile salts flowing through the duodenum. The bile salts are carried away by peristalsis in the gut, traveling from the small intestine, through the colon, and out the rectum.
The coffee enema is in a class by itself as a therapeutic agent. In no way does the oral administration of beverage coffee have the same effect as its rectal administration. On the contrary, drinking coffee virtually ensures reabsorption of toxic bile. It is a physiological fact that bile is normally reabsorbed up to 10 times by the body before working its way out of the intestines in feces. The enzyme-intensifying ability of the coffee enema does not allow reabsorption of toxic bile by the liver across the gut wall. It is an effective means of detoxifying the bloodstream through existing enzyme systems in both the liver and the small intestine.
You control your discomfort by the frequency of these caffeine concentrated osmotic dialysis enemas. This is the only process of its kind that is not self-limiting by its own toxicity.
Combined with any herbal detox protocol to reach individual cells, unlimited detox rates are enabled. You just keep on dumping. If it´s cancer, the disintegrating tumor material comes right on through without jamming the liver. No detox program should be undertaken absent the coffee enema, even if it is just once per day.
Gerson reports that unlike ordinary enemas used for other purposes, only the coffee enema can be repeated as often as needed without adverse side effects. The chemical transfer occurs as an osmotic process through the wall of the hemorrhoid vein. This vein runs alongside the colon (large bowel). It connects directly into the liver. The caffeine chemical enters without going through the digestive tract. You cannot achieve this result by drinking coffee. Putting caffeine into the digestive process is counter productive to the detox process.
The Merck Manual carried this procedure as an instruction until 1977. It was pulled without explanation or advance notice.
my comments:
Coffee delivered in this manner has never made me wired or jittery, and I am extremely sensitive to caffeine. I would personally never undergo any type of detox without also doing the coffee enema at least once daily. If I had to undergo anesthetic, I would get someone to give me the coffee enemas if the hospital was unwilling as these drugs can be very difficult on the liver.
The original Gerson recipe is quite convoluted and intricate, sometimes where it doesn't need to be. I have simplified it while retaining the integrity of the methodology, and formatted it i an easier to follow way, without all the digressions. For example, I don't expect people to go out and buy a specific Kenmore water distiller as is recommended ... I know people just want to start, and this is an expensive and not entirely necessary product.
equipment & materials
2 quart (or more) GLASS pot with lid
2 x 1-gallon, or 4 x 1/2-gallon glass bottles
cheesecloth
plastic funnel to fit the glass botttles
coffee grinder
1 lb. roasted organic brown coffee beans
2 or 3 gallons of distilled water (I use reverse osmosis, and that seems fine)
concentrate recipe instructions
grind 1 lb. of coffee beans into regular grind sized particles, somewhat coarse to be easily trapped in the cheesecloth filter you will make in the funnel
dump the coffee into the stock pot
add 2 quarts of distilled water
drop a foot/inch ruler into the liquid to measure its height. This measure will be used to restore the boiled off water lost in the concentrate boil
bring this mixture to a roiling boil for 3 minutes
Reduce heat to collapse the boil to a simmer for 15 minutes
let cool for 60 minutes. Add distilled water to bring the level up to original 2 quarts level
fill the funnel spout with cheesecloth thus making the funnel into a filter
move the two quarts of concentrate into the bottle(s) through the cheesecloth/strainer/funnel filter to trap coffee particulates
refrigerate this concentrate. It will retain strength for a week if the bottle is tightly capped. One way to cap a milk bottle which has lost its paper plug, is to stretch a sandwhich bag over the opening with a rubber band to secure it.
dialysis enema solution
I add 300 mL of the concentrate to 200 mL pure water to make one treatment of 500 mLs total. You may wish to start with the reverse ratio until you're able to retain it for 15 minutes.
enema procedure
use coffee solution heated to 98.6-105 degrees farenheit
let air out of tubing
lubricate the end nozzle with non-petroleum based lubricant
lie on your right side, knees drawn up to chest if able
enema bag/container should be about 2 feet above your abdomen
insert lubricated nozzle not more than 4 inches
release the coffee solution at room temperature
breathe deeply to draw fluid in as far up into the large bowel (colon) as possible
hold the fluid for as much of the 15 minutes as you can. Beginning sessions will fall short of complete success. Each session will be more effective than the last, until the process becomes routine and complete retention is no longer a problem. The Gerson Therapy calls for a 15 minute process.
put on disposable rubber gloves available at any drug store; or the cheaper but effective throwaway food-handler clear plastic gloves
soak and wash the entire enema device in fragrance-free laundry detergent water and borax; a tablespoon of powder to a gallon.Rinse well with very hot tap water.
soak the nozzle 5 minutes in a small pot with supermarket grade commercial 3% peroxide to disinfect
NEOBEX INJECTIONS
IM injections of B vitamins, excluding B12 and folic acid. 1 cc administered 3x weekly to boost energy and assist in liver detox. Gets expensive unless you learn to self-administer; then cost is about $5/per shot. Note: the mixture does contain preservatives.
B12 INJECTIONS
B12 injected subQ or IM. Used for energy, cognitive function and the methylation cycle. Three types of B12 may be used: cyanocobalamin, hydroxocobalamin or methylcobalamin, with methylcobolamin being the most expensive, as it is the neurological co-enzyme form. If shots are too expensive, methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges may be used. Doctors claim they are not as effective, though my blood tests prove otherwise. What is not effective are oral forms of B12 as they usually can't be absorbed by the stomach due to lack of intrinsic factor. I have developed antibodies to intrinsic factor, and it is quite plausible that others with ME/CFS have as well. The sublingual (under the tongue) route gets the B12 directly into the bloodstream without the need of intrinsic factor.
